Although I'm pretty sure that my sister is the only one reading this, I'll thank all of you for coming to check out DIETAN.net. So far I have been having a great trip. And a wet trip. There's been quite a bit of rain down South this year. The fact that I have been having so much fun and getting wet doing it means that I have been doing a piss poor job of updating this web site. Tonight I am half way between Del Rio and Terlingua Texas with Jason. We walked into Mexico today and bought a groovy set of horns for the front of the Jeep. Tomorrow we're putting in on the Rio Grande for 4 or 5 days. This means that I will continue doing a piss poor job of updating this site. However, I have been taking pictures and notes. The pictures from the trip so far are all up at photos.dietan.net. The notes will turn into articles here in the near future I swear. The 3 other posts I am putting up today really just get the trip started. I wanted to continue in chronological order, and they were relatively short to write, so that's what you get for now. I've been on this computer for the better part of 3 hours and 4 Lone Star beers (pretty good beer by the way) and it's time for me to go to bed. In the days since I arrived in Cross Creek I have played in Little St. Joe State Park with Bo Page and his son Earl. I picked up Bo Lusk in Pensacola and had a great trip along the Gulf Coast of Florida and Alabama. Bo & I paddled with the entire Southeastern shrimp fleet in Bayou Le Batre, AL and then had an incredible day on Black Creek in the Pascagoula rivershed in Mississippi. We spent a day hunting for a paddling spot in New Orleans (we found a bar or two instead). I dropped Bo in New Orleans and hauled ass (as much as you can haul ass in the Jeep) to Houston to pick up Jason. We have been heading toward the Rio Grande for 28 hours now, and I can't wait to get there in the morning. If you check out the pictures you'll find out how we hid from the latest and greatest rain shower to attack us. Dampened, but not defeated we were back on the road at 6:30 this morning. It's 1:30am now.

So, I'm sorry that the details you have so far are not quite as timely as I wish they were, but don't worry, I'll be gone for 2 months. There's got to be a couple of days of computer time in there somewhere.
